“STAND UP TO CANCER” RETURNED TO PRIMETIME FOR ITS THIRD STAR-STUDDED BROADCAST LIVE ON ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, AND SEVERAL CABLE NETWORKS TO MILLIONS OF VIEWERS . THIS WAS A ONE HOUR COMMERCIAL FREE FUNDRAISING EVENT.
Friday evening sept 7th The Shrine Auditorium was home to a star-studded event, as an extraordinary group of actors, musicians and athletes came together for Stand Up To Cancer, a star-studded effort that helps build public support for groundbreaking translational cancer research and accelerates the delivery of new therapies to patients. The one-hour fundraising event was simulcast live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC as well as Armed Forces Network, BIO, E!, ENCORE, HBO, HBO Latino, ION Television, LMN (Lifetime Movie Network), Logo, MLB Network, mun2, Palladia, SHOWTIME, Smithsonian Channel, STARZ, STYLE, TBS, and VH1 at 8PM ET & PT / 7PM CT. Hulu also provided the exclusive live stream of the telecast and will have the show on demand at http://www.hulu.com/stand-up-to-cancer. Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Emmy Award winner Joel Gallen joined Stand Up To Cancer’s production team as the executive producers.
This special fundraising event was attended by hollywood’s elite stars of which included;

Additional celebrities featured in the Stand Up To Cancer program included: Coldplay, Emma Stone, Halle Berry, Katie Couric, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Tom Hanks.
In addition to personal patient stories, the program featured celebrity speakers and a celebrity phone/multi-media bank allowing viewers to interact with participating talent as well as performances by Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw. In an effort to maintain the message beyond the telecast, live phone operators will be working throughout the entire weekend to secure additional donations.
